Isn't it a wonderful thing to be heard? When someone says to you "I hear you" - you know what they mean. They mean more than just hearing the words coming out of your mouth. They mean hearing your heart, your pain, your disappointment, or your concern - whatever it is that you are really trying to communicate. What they are saying is, "I really want to know and understand you." Don't you feel honored and respected just to know you are being heard and known in this way?

When we approach God's Word, do we give Him the same kind of honor and respect, or are we always wanting God to come down to our level and explain Himself to us if he expects to avoid an argument? What kind of respect is that?
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life," (John 5:24 KJV).

Listen to Christ in His Word. If you can hear God's voice speaking directly to you - to your need, and to your concerns, consider yourself blessed beyond measure. Take it for what it means. It means God has chosen to reveal Himself to you in no small way. Do you realize how phenomenal this is? By some miracle of grace we cannot begin to understand, Christ makes spiritually dead people hear his voice - and those that hear and believe will live. This is the true "hearing of faith" (Romans 10:17 KJV). It's hearing more than just words - it's honoring, respecting, believing and knowing, and surrendering to Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord.
